Regenerative Landscaping: An Urban Garden For Storm Water Management At Duquesne University

This thesis proposes an urban vegetable garden as a solution to the landscape degradation caused by storm water on campus. Redesigning this location into a garden would provide biodiversity, improved soil quality, and rain management. The yields from this agricultural space would be donated to the adjacent neighborhood that faces food-apartheid. The new landscape would bring ecosystem services including food supply, aesthetic appeal, pollination, nutrient cycling, and hands-on education.
