Grasslands fairy rings of Leucocalocybe mongolica represent the center of a rich soil microbial community

Among the mycological fairy rings found in grasslands, the Type 1 fairy rings are created by the endangered, economically-valuable fungus Leucocalocybe mongolica (LM). To study the changes in the soil microbial structure within Type 1 fairy rings, and thereby inform conservationist, here we report the findings of metabarcoding and metagenomics surveys of soils collected from the various fairy ring zones.
