Effects of various genotoxic agents on L1 promoter activity.

The effects of treatment for 6 and 24 hours on L1 promoter activity relative to the vehicle control were evaluated with the luciferase reporter gene assay.+and++, 1.2- to 1.5-fold increase and >1.5-fold increase at one or more concentrations, respectively (p<0.05); − and − −, 1.2- to 1.5-fold decrease and >1.5-fold decrease at one or more concentrations, respectively (p<0.05); N.S., no significant change.
