尼西鸡原原产地和中心产区为云南省迪庆州德钦县奔子兰、羊拉，香格里拉县尼西、东旺，甘孜州德荣县古学、解放等地，具有性情活泼、能飞善跑、耐粗饲、觅食力强，产蛋较多、肉质鲜嫩、风味独特等特点，尤其抗寒、耐缺氧The original native habitat and core production areas of Nixi Chicken are Benzilan and Yangla in Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province; Nixi and Dongwang in Shangri-La County; as well as Guxue and Jiefang in Derong County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. This breed is characterized by lively temperament, proficiency in flying and running, tolerance to rough feed, strong foraging ability, relatively high egg production, tender meat and unique flavor, and particularly excellent cold resistance and hypoxia tolerance.
