SDG Attribution Data

Positive and negative impacts aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals for historic and forecast periods. The GIST universe dataset contains over 13,000 listed entities. Description SDG alignment is a means of holding companies accountable and setting and monitoring goals for investment portfolios. The UN SDGs are the most widely recognised and accepted non-regulatory standards and form best practice in sustainability target setting at corporate and investment level. GIST Impact valuations use the Drivers-Outcomes-Impacts approach, whereby the change in economic conditions caused by an ESG metric, such as air pollution, are sourced from global databases and valued using peer-reviewed scientific and economic research. Results are typically negative for environmental impacts and positive for social and financial value added. These monetary values are then mapped to the UN SDGs at the target level. This allows both positive and negative values to align with individual goals and exposure may be assessed at both gross and net levels. The GIST Impact methodology is aligned with the most widely adopted impact frameworks from organisations such as the United Nations, the Capitals Coalition, Impact Weighted Accounts Initiative, and the Value Balancing Alliance. The methodology aligns with ISSB. Customers have the option of access to analysts for questions and clarifications of the data.
