Ancient_DNA_from_Bronze_Age_Lebanon

Ancient DNA (aDNA) studies can describe the human past with exceptional details revealing how historical events have shaped the human genome through migration, mixture and selection. We have sequenced ancient genomes from Bronze Age Sidon- a Mediterranean city in the Near East in present-day Lebanon. The Bronze Age in the Near East was a period marked by important technological innovations which triggered major population expansions and mixing. We analyze aDNA from this period and refine our understanding of the events leading to the observed genetic diversity in the Near East and surrounding regions including East Africa and Europe.
