QUBIKOS is a quantum layout synthesis benchmark dataset created by researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Harvard University. This dataset contains quantum circuits with known optimal non-zero SWAP counts, and is designed to evaluate the performance of quantum layout synthesis tools, particularly their efficacy in inserting SWAP gates. QUBIKOS provides comprehensive assessments for Quantum Layout Synthesis (QLS) tools by constructing circuit segments with specific SWAP-related requirements and ensuring these segments are executed sequentially in the final circuit. The dataset construction takes into account hardware connectivity constraints during the mapping of quantum circuits to physical quantum processors, and offers valuable insights for the future development of QLS tools.
