In this study, sediments from two distinct estuarine sites from the Douro River Estuary (Portugal), were incubated for 36 days in constant and fluctuation salinity regimes. Afterward, sediments from the oxygenated layer were sampled for environmental DNA extraction and V4-V5 16S rRNA Illumina amplicon sequencing analysis.
