Whole genome sequencing of Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a cause of Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) or acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) in Pacific whiteleg shrimps. This study aims to sequence the genome of pathogenic and non-pathogenic V. parahaemolyticus strains isolated from Malaysia aquaculture shrimp and its rearing water. The whole genomes will be used to determine the genomic diversity and evolutionary relationship with other V. parahaemolyticus strains for disease tracking and possible future outbreak prevention.
