Dataset: Greek Metrical and Prosodic Analysis - Anthologia Palatina Book I

The dataset contains the metrical and prosodic description of the Greek poems of Anthologia Palatina, Book I (Christian Epigrams). The analysis considers the edited text (see Related Works) and provides manuscript variants whenever these differ metrically from the edited text. The following parameters are tracked: metrical pattern, metrical and syntactic caesurae, diaereses, bridges, homodynia, and the position of natural accents at caesurae. The dataset serves as a tool for observing innovation and archaism in the transition from quantitative to syllabo-tonic versification and from isochronous to medieval isosyllabic verse.
