Employment rates by gender and migration status

The employment ratio describes the number of persons in employment aged 15 to under 65 per 100 persons in the corresponding population group. This statistic shows the share of employed persons in North Rhine-Westphalia in comparison with Germany and West Germany. Further key data are the distinction between gender and existing migration background. According to the Labour Force concept of the International Labour Organisation (ILO concept), employed persons are all persons aged 15 and over who have worked or are in training for at least one hour in return for remuneration (wage, salary) or as self-employed persons or as family workers during the reference week. It does not matter whether the activity is a regular or occasional activity.
