Elevation data used to analyze non-contemporaneity of flow events in ephemeral tributary junctions

This repository holds orthophotos and Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) derived from aerial imagery collected by drones at three confluences of ephemeral arroyos with the Rio Grande near Socorro, New Mexico, USA. The three arroyos are the Arroyo de la Parida, Arroyo de los Pinos, and Arroyo de las Canas, each of which flows westward toward the Rio Grande out of the hilly area known as the Quebradas. The data collection flights at the Pinos took place on seven dates: 03 July 2018, 29 July 2018, 07 September 2019, 08 June 2020, 01 August 2020, 06 September 2020, and 27 September 2020. The data collection flights at the Parida took place on three dates: 25 August 2019, 03 March 2020, and 27 September 2020. The data collection flights at the Canas took place on three dates: 23 August 2019, 19 July 2020, and 19 September 2020. All DEMs were derived using the Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetry technique, using the software MetaShape by Agisoft. The orthophotos were also generated using MetaShape. All data are stored as geospatially enabled .tif files, using the Central New Mexico State Plane Meters projection and the NAD83 datum. These data were used in an analysis of tributary junction morphology published under the title "Non-contemporaneity of flow events as a control on the morphology and sedimentary character of ephemeral tributary junctions" in the open access journal Geomorphica.
