Whole mitochondrial DNA sequencing

Research on the role of mitochondrial DNA variations in the pathogenesis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) has been unfolding at a rapid rate over the past decade. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) variations in ALL are still evolving. Our lab has previously described higher mtDNA copy number in pediatric ALL patients as compared to the healthy controls. In the current study, 20 de-novo pediatric B-ALL cases were enrolled for evaluating the pattern of variations in the mitochondrial genome and their association, if any, with their impact on the disease.
