BAEs, GAM and magnetic islands

The relationship among geodesic acoustic mode (GAM), tearing modes (TMs) and twincounter-propagating beta-induced Alfven eigenmodes (BAEs) waves has been investigated extensively in the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST). The structures of TMs are investigated by the combination of ECE and SXR arrays, and the structures of GAMs and BAEs have been demonstrated by DBS and edge magnetic pickup arrays. Strong interplay are observed among three branches of GAM, TMs and BAEs.
