The 365 global snow cover frequency maps were derived from MODIS MOD10C1 data. There is one map for each day of the year (leap year days are excluded). Each map displays the frequency of snow cover for the 20-year time series, Hydrological Years 2000 - 2020, on a per-grid cell basis. Each grid cell is approximately 5 X 5 km. The dataset is described in detail in Riggs et al. (in press).
