Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library construction. Drosophila persimilis

Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library construction is underway for D. persimilis with a goal toward genome sequence finishing, genome assembly and comparative genomic studies. Construction and utilization of this BAC library will provide a sequencing resource for comparative annotation and a genomic resource for experimental studies on gene function within the Drosophila genus.
