资源简介:

Bastion Mountain is an idyllic location on the north shore of Shuswap Lake in Area C of the Columbia sShuswap Regional District (CSRD). The area has been developed over the last century and is now subject to many property renovations and significant upgrades to residences and outbuildings. The developments are concentrated in proximity to Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Road, parallel to the lake shore. The developments are generally being upgraded from seasonal cabins to permanent homes. The development includes in the order of 200 fee simple properties, one community park and the well-used Herald Provincial Park. The area is notable for debris flows which have recently occurred on three of the large creek systems (Handy Brook, McIntyre Creek, Robinson Creek). The scope of work for this project is summarized below. • Identify the different types of landslides that affect the study area. These could include rock fall, rock slide, debris slides, debris avalanches, debris flows and debris floods. • Determine the aerial extents of the historic landslide events, i.e., the slopes impacted by the landslide runout(s). • Attempt to estimate the frequency of the landslide events using the historic air photo images for the area and dendrochronology/lichenometry, where possible. • Prepare a report discussing the events and develop a landslide hazard map showing areas affected by the observed events. This Technical Memorandum provides an overview hydrological assessment to delineate watershed boundaries and estimate peak flows. This work is incorporated into the overview landslide assessment report from Westrek Geotechnical Services Ltd. (Westrek, 2019) that accompanies this Technical Memorandum. Overall project recommendations are included in this Technical Memorandum. View Report
