Developing a framework for optimizing the cost of materials for construction projects using BIM and the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm

This paper develops a framework to rapidly process and analyze a large volume of data relating to material costs by integrating the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm and building information modeling (BIM) so that project beneficiaries can choose the lowest-cost mix of materials.
