EOS-RS Flood Proxy Map: Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Typhoon Krathon Floods, 4 Oct 2024

The Earth Observatory of Singapore - Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS) created this preliminary Flood Proxy Map (FPM) depicting areas that are likely flooded in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, due to heavy rainfall from Typhoon Krathon. This map was derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images acquired by the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellite operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) before (13 Nov 2023 to 29 Apr 2024) and after (2 Oct 2024) the event.
