Conflictual Interactions in Mixed Localities, 2017

This project addressed the role of media and religions in social tensions in Norway today. The project examined how media treat religion in public conflicts. The project looked especially at the tension and interaction in local communities with a large segment of Muslim citizens. The project compared local communitites in Kristiansand and Oslo with particular interest being religious and non-religious initiatives for dialogue in multicultural contexts. The project was part of the project «Engaging with Conflicts in Mediatized Religious Environments. A Comparative Scandinavian Study" (CoMRel) which consisted of several sub-projects.
