Marker assays for maladaptive traits in canola

Primer sequences and allelic information for new diagnostic KASP markers targeting the genes conferring maladaptive traits in canola: Seed erucic acid, seed glucosinolate and strong vernalisation requirement for floral initiation. These markers are ideally suited for selecting Australian-adapted types when breeding with non-adapted types. \nLineage: Literature search identified target genes for maladaptive traits in canola. Primers were designed for KASP assays targeting SNPs in candidate genes. Allelic diversity in 255 diverse Brassica napus accessions were obtained via KASP assays.
