Fastq sequencing data for metabarcoding of fecal pellets from black rail (Laterallus jamaicensis jamaicensis), yellow rail (Coturnicops noveboracensis), and sora (Porzana carolina). Cytochrome oxidase I was targeted using fwhF2 and fwhR2n primers, and amplification products were sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq platform in order to assess dietary contents.
