PROCUREMENT PRACTICES AND PERFORMANCE OF PURE BIOTECH COMPANY LIMITED

This study examined the effect of procurement practices on organizational performance at Pure Biotech Company Limited, Makurdi, Benue State. Specifically, it assessed how supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and e-procurement influence operational efficiency, financial performance, product quality, and customer satisfaction. The study adopted a descriptive survey design, targeting all 70 employees across five functional departments, using a structured questionnaire for data collection. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 25.0. The findings reveal that all procurement practices significantly and positively affect organizational performance, with supplier relationship management showing the strongest influence, followed by contract management, strategic sourcing, and e-procurement. The study concludes that effective procurement practices are critical to enhancing organizational efficiency, cost management, and competitive advantage. Based on these findings, recommendations include strengthening supplier partnerships, implementing strategic sourcing frameworks, standardizing contract management, and upgrading e-procurement systems.
