Genetic modification of the MYB-FL gene in a P. axillaris background through a CRISPR/Cas9 approach rendered it non-functional, altering the floral UV phenotype from absorbent to reflective. To study the effects of the myb-fl knock-out on gene expression of the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway, we performed an RNAseq experiment on floral limbs of wildtype and myb-fl mutant plants.
