Mastitis microbiomes of cow and mouse Metagenome

In the present study, we evaluated the effect of bovine fecal and milk microbiota transplantations on the onset of mastitis in pregnant mice as a model. We collected fecal and milk samples from both CM and healthy (H) cows, and transplanted the microbiotas of these samples into recipient mice. We then investigated the changes in gut and mammary (milk and tissues) microbiota in response to transplantations by conducting high-throughput whole metagenome sequencing (WMS) followed by metataxonomic and metabolomic analyses of samples from both cows and mice.
