Gut microbiome of chronic kidney disease mice

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an increasing global public health problem, which is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Jian-Pi-Yi-Shen (JPYS) decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine formula widely used in China for the treatment of CKD. However, the underlying mechanisms of JPYS decoction in treating CKD remain to be elucidated. Adenine-induced CKD mice models were subjected to JPYS decoction for 4 weeks. 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing of kidney were used to investigate the correlations between the microbiome and CKD-related indicators under CKD condition.
