Congressional Districts of NJ, Hosted, 3857

This polygon layer delineates the US Congressional District boundaries in New Jersey, 2022 - 2032. For this redistricting, the apportionment is the same as for the previous, 2012 redistricting, resulting in the same number of Congressional Districts; however the boundaries have changed significantly. This version of the layer uses high-quality base map spatial data published by the State of New Jersey, instead of U.S. Census Bureau geographic data (TIGER). Where no higher-quality data were available, the TIGER lines were used. This revised version of the data was created due to the Congressional office changes in the New Jersey District 11, as well as Legislative office changes in Districts 2, 8, 20, 21, 25, 28, 31, 32, 33, and 35. Because the Congressional Representative was required to relinquish their seat in November 2025, there will be a Special Election held in 2026, with the Primaries taking place on Feb 5th, 2026, and the General Election on April 16th, 2026. This layer, which overlays correctly the highest quality municipal boundary data for New Jersey is an unofficial version; by law, the official version is based on U.S. Census data (geographic and demographic). Major changes to this layer consist of large geometry and/or attribute changes. Minor changes include smaller corrections to improve accuracy.
