In this study, we demonstrate that mitochondrial transfer from young hPDLSCs to senescent hPDLSCs restores mitochondrial function and osteogenic differentiation capacity. Our results further indicate that mitochondrial transfer activates the cAMP/PKA pathway. Collectively, our findings provide direct evidence that mitochondrial transfer effectively promotes bone regeneration in hPDLSCs.
