In this experiment, shake table tests were performed on a 5-story full scale steel moment frame building in the fixed-base condition. The tests were performed to compare the response of nonstructural components and contents in the fixed-base configuration to previous configurations with base isolation. A variety of earthquake and white noise simulations were performed over a single day. The test program emphasized strong shaking in the vertical direction.
