MRC5 cells were infected with wild type (KOS) and genome replication defective (UL30 C1216) HSV-1 at an MOI of 10 PFU/cell. Samples were harvested at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 hpi. RNA was isolated and a poly(A) mRNA selection was performed. Illumina sequencing was carried out at Tufts University Core Facility using HiSeq 2500 to generate 50 bp single-end reads.
