Metatranscriptomes of marine denitrifying biofilm cultures

The biofilm of a continuous, methanol-fed, fluidized denitrification system that treated a marine effluent is composed of multi-species microorganisms. The original biofilm (OB) taken from the Biodome denitrification system was cultured under batch-mode, anoxic conditions at laboratory scale in an artificial seawater (ASW). The cultures conditions tested were with 0% NaCl, with 300 mg-N nitrate per Liter at 23°C or with 900 mg-N nitrate per liter at 30°C. The RNA sequences of these three biofilm cultures were derived, and the reads were aligned to the genomes and plasmids of Hyphomicrobium nitratiorans NL23, Methylophaga nitratireducenticrescens JAM1 and GP59. Reads that did not align with these three genomes were do novo assembled and annotated
