Community structure and functional dynamics of a full-scale mixed microalgal wastewater resource recovery facility

The goal of this project is to characterize the mixed microalgal communities and identify the operational and environmental drivers that govern their interactions and system performance (i.e., nutrient removal and biomass production). To this end, we performed shotgun metagenomics sequencing of the mixed microalgal biomass for over a year to characterize the community at genus or species levels and gene-level.
