SmProt is a reliable small protein database that curates small proteins (with a length of fewer than 100 amino acids) identified from multiple sources including ribosome profiling data, peer-reviewed literature, and mass spectrometry analyses. This database holds comprehensive information for small proteins from 8 species, covering their sequences, genomic positions, associated tissues or cell lines, coding potential evaluations, functional annotations, genetic variations, and related diseases. To date, the total number of stored entries in SmProt exceeds 3.6 million.
