Digital Trust Survey 2025 Dataset

This dataset is part of the Human Clarity Institute’s AI–Human Experience Data Series. It measures how adults understand, evaluate, and navigate digital trust in an AI-mediated information environment. The dataset captures concerns about AI-generated content, perceived manipulation, detection accuracy, verification confidence, and the emotional experience of uncertainty online. The dataset includes:• validated 1–7 Likert-scale measures of digital trust and online uncertainty• indicators of perceived manipulation and difficulty verifying online content• measures of trust in AI detection tools and reliance on human judgement• concerns about AI-generated misinformation and content realism• multi-select trust domains and least-trusted online environments• open-text reflections on trust, verification processes, and online cues• demographic variables across six English-speaking countries Data were collected via Prolific in November 2025 from adults across the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Ireland. All data were cleaned, anonymised, and verified according to the Human Clarity Institute’s open-data publication protocol. This dataset contributes to understanding how AI-generated content, digital uncertainty, and modern information environments shape human trust, accuracy judgement, and online behaviour. It provides foundational data for longitudinal tracking of digital trust trends and AI-related trust dynamics.
