ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER GDEM)是美国是美国航空航天局 (NASA )和日本经济产业省(METI)联合发布的全球数字高程数据产品, 该DEM数据是根据NASA新一代对地观测卫星TERRA的观测结果完成,是由ASTER(Advanced Space borne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radio meter)传感器搜集的130万个立体像对数据制作,其覆盖范围超过了地球99%陆地表面。该数据的水平精度30米(置信度95%),高程精度为20米(置信度95%)。该数据是第三个全球范围内的高程数据,较之以前的SRTM3 DEM和GTOPO30数据有明显的提高。ASTER GDEM发布了两个版本,第一个版本于2009年6月发布,第二个版本于2011年10月发布,第二版相比第一版而言,数据在水域覆盖和偏差去除等方面有了进一步的进展,数据的质量得到了很大的提高。

ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (ASTER GDEM) is a global digital elevation data product jointly released by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. This DEM product is developed based on observation data from NASA's next-generation Earth-observing satellite Terra, and is compiled using 1.3 million stereo image pairs collected by the ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) sensor, covering more than 99% of the Earth's land surface. Its horizontal accuracy is 30 meters (95% confidence level), and vertical elevation accuracy is 20 meters (95% confidence level). As the third global elevation dataset, it has marked improvements over the previous SRTM3 DEM and GTOPO30 datasets. ASTER GDEM has two official releases: the first version was launched in June 2009, and the second version in October 2011. Compared to the first version, the second version has made further progress in water body coverage and bias removal, greatly improving overall data quality.
This dataset is the second version of ASTER GDEM for the Shule River Basin, including DEM, hillshade, slope and aspect data. Its spatial resolution is 1 arc-second (approximately 30 meters), with a vertical accuracy of 20 meters and horizontal accuracy of 30 meters.
