Electron microscope tomographs obtained in sleeping (S, n=4) and sleep deprived mice (SD, n=4; 6h of SD with novel objects). Images of somas of cortical neurons of layer II-III of frontal cortex. Images were acquired using serial block-face electron microscope Zeiss Gemini SEM 450 (Carl Zeiss NTS Ltd) equipped with a backscattered electron detector.
