Raw 16S rRNA sequences from the hindgut microbiota of Periplaneta americana. P. americana were raised in the laboratory on a diet of dog food (time zero) and then received a dietary perturbation for 14-days. Treatments included tuna, butter, whole wheat flour, white flour, a mixed diet of all the foods, or starvation.
