Data underlying the publication: Archaeal histone HTkC hypercompacts DNA

The research objective was to study how histone HTkC from <em>Thermococcus kodakarensis</em> binds and structures DNA. We have studied this with electrophoretic mobility shift assays, micrococcal nuclease assays, ligase-mediated circularisation, growth curves, RNA-seq, tethered particle motion (TPM), X-ray crystallography, and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. This dataset contains TPM data, raw gel images, MD data, analysed RNA-seq data, growth curve data, CD spectroscopy data, SEC-MALS data, MD trajectories, MD movies, and source code for the analysis of data and generation of figures.本研究的目标是探究来自柯达热球菌（*Thermococcus kodakarensis*）的组蛋白HTkC如何结合DNA并组织其结构。我们通过电泳迁移率变动分析（electrophoretic mobility shift assays）、微球菌核酸酶测定法、连接酶介导的环化实验、生长曲线测定、RNA测序（RNA-seq）、束缚粒子运动（tethered particle motion, TPM）、X射线晶体学以及分子动力学（MD）模拟开展了相关研究。本数据集包含TPM数据、原始凝胶图像、分子动力学数据、经分析处理的RNA-seq数据、生长曲线数据、圆二色光谱法（CD spectroscopy）数据、尺寸排阻色谱-多角度激光光散射（SEC-MALS）数据、分子动力学轨迹、分子动力学模拟视频，以及用于数据分析与图表生成的源代码。
