a Derived from modeling presented in [13], where loss of Callitris stems is shown to be significantly correlated with the frequency of severe fires (i.e. with mean leaf-scorch heights >2 m). For present purposes, we assume that frequency of severe fires is broadly relatable to the frequency of LDS fires given that the probability of any LDS fire being severe is 0.81 [13]. LDS = late dry season; DBH = diameter at breast height, 1.3 m.
