The cryptic genera Radicilingua and Calonitophyllum (Delesseriaceae, Rhodophyta): molecular phylogeny and taxonomic revision. The cryptic genera Radicilingua and Calonitophyllum

Molecular analyses based on the rbcL gene and carried out on different Radicilingua specimens allowed the recognition of the specie R. adriatica in the Mediterranean Sea, distinct from R. thysanorhizans from England. Moreover, based on the phylogenetic results, also the monotypic genus Calonitophyllum is recognized as part of the genus Radicilingua.
