Numerical investigation on non-spherical effects in immersed granular collapse

This folder compiles the research results on the influence of particle aspect ratio on the dynamics of immersed granular column collapse. Specifically, the CFD folder contains the computed flow field data, with the data files named by particle aspect ratio; the DEM folder stores the particle field data obtained from discrete element simulations, and the data files are likewise named by particle aspect ratio; the Results folder includes three parts: the accuracy verification of the newly developed model; the effects of varying particle aspect ratio on the runout distance, energy evolution, contact characteristics, and excess pore pressure variation of the granular column; and the scaling law between the kinetic energy of the granular column front and its runout distance.
