SofaMyRoom is a fast, cross-platform room simulator developed by institutions including the Acoustics Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, designed for generating datasets of binaural room impulse responses (BRIRs). It integrates the image source method and diffuse rain ray tracing algorithm to simulate the three core components of room impulse responses: the direct sound component, early reflections, and reverberation tails. During the dataset construction process, HRTF data formatted in the Spatially Oriented Format for Acoustics (SOFA) is employed, which ensures high flexibility and personalization. The SofaMyRoom dataset is mainly applied in machine hearing and psychoacoustics research, with the goal of solving problems such as speech dereverberation, sound source separation, and sound source localization, particularly in reverberant environments.
