Effect of recombinant trypsin modulating oostatic factor on gut microbiota of Aedes albopictus larvae

The gut microbiota has a significant role in pathogen transmission and mosquito biology. To check whether treatment with recombinant TMOF alters the gut microbiota, the second instar larvae of A. albopictus were exposed to LC10 (48 hours) concentration of recombinant TMOF and allowed to grow until the fourth instar stage. Bacterial composition of the treated larvae was assessed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and compared with that of the control.
