Cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD), as a key enzyme in plant secondary metabolism, plays a crucial role in regulating plant growth and development, as well as resisting biotic/abiotic stress. Mongolian ice grass (Keng) is drought resistant and cold resistant, widely distributed in the desert grassland areas of northern China.
