Proximity Ligation Genome for Helicoverpa zea (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

The sequencing of proximity ligation libraries (HiC) was undertaken to provide a highly contiguous/chromosome-level genome for the pest species Helicoverpa zea. The genomic data was generated for use in scaffolding with CLR PacBio and illumina data as part of an Ag100 genome initiative for this species and will be used in subsequent genomic comparisons to the sister species Helicoverpa armigera as well as generating reference data for the development of a broad array of molecular assays related to species identification and genes of interest.
