Research data supporting "Testing the performance of the Macrophyte Index for Rivers and the Riverine Macrophyte Nutrient Index in a river reach subjected to multiple stressors in NE Bulgaria"

This dataset contains the research data supporting the article “Testing the performance of the Macrophyte Index for Rivers and the Riverine Macrophyte Nutrient Index in a river reach subjected to multiple stressors in NE Bulgaria”, submitted to Acta Biologica Slovenica. The dataset includes macrophyte species occurrence and cover values, habitat assessment results, physicochemical water-quality parameters, and derived macrophyte index scores for four sampling sites along a heavily modified reach of the Kerizbunar River downstream of the Saedinenie Dam, northeastern Bulgaria. The data were used to calculate and compare the Macrophyte Index for Rivers (MIR), the Riverine Macrophyte Nutrient Index (RMNI), and the ecological quality ratio for RMNI. The package includes README and metadata files describing the structure, variables, methods, spatial and temporal coverage, and reuse conditions of the dataset.
