We proposed a balanced strategy for reducing multiple types of rasterization errors to simultaneously preserve the spatial properties of area, shape, and topology during polygon-to-raster conversion. Starting from the initial rasterized outcome of a vector dataset, we first reassign the boundary cells (i.e., the raster cells that intersect the polygon’s boundary) that are lost by raster regions but are important for maintaining their shape properties to these regions. Then, we correct the topological relations between regions that are different from those between the corresponding polygons. Finally, we transfer the remaining boundary cells to regions requiring supplementing areas. <br>
