Overview This feature service provides detailed spatial data on subaqueous soils in Rhode Island's coastal and estuarine regions. Derived from the 2017 Rhode Island soil survey (Spatial Version 11, Tabular Version 15) and enhanced through specialized subaqueous soil interpretations, these data support various coastal management and scientific applications. Refer to the spread sheet called SAS_Interpreations_Master for more information or contact the owner. This hosted feature layer has been published in RI State Plane Feet NAD 83. Feature Layers SOIL_Soils_Subaqueous_spf: This layer includes mapped polygons representing different subaqueous soil units classified through observation, behavior analysis, and scientific research. Attributes encompass soil characteristics relevant for coastal restoration, carbon pool assessments, aquaculture potential, CMECS (Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard) classification, and bottom type delineation.
