Inpainted version of the TextOCR dataset for OCR research. Regions not covered by annotations were inpainted for a fairer evaluation of text detection and recognition models.
This dataset is derived from the original TextOCR dataset: Singh, A., Pang, G., Toh, M., Huang, J., Galuba, W., & Hassner, T. (2021). TextOCR: Towards large-scale end-to-end reasoning for arbitrary-shaped scene text. In Proceedings of the IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (pp. 8802-8812).
