We use a nitrogen (N)-enrichment field experiment with one of the world’s most invasive C4 plants, <i>Spartina alterniflora</i>, to evaluate whether the phenotypic plasticity of light use reduces light competition under increased nutrient availability, thereby increasing its invasiveness.
